The Niger State chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee of the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Alhaji Ilyasu Abubakar Dhacko, has said that former military president, Ibrahim Babangida, cannot withdraw from the agreement he and others reached with Alhaji Adamu Ciroma-led Northern Political Leaders Forum (NPLF) on the consensus candidate for the north.

The forum had picked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its choice to slug it out with President Goodluck Jonathan for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket.

It was also said that Generals Babangida and Aliyu Gusau, Governor Bukola Saraki and Alhaji Abubakar agreed to work with whoever emerged the consensus candidate to ensure victory in the PDP primaries.

However, since the choice of Alhaji  Abubakar was announced, it was said that General Babangida had not directed his offices across the country to collapse into that of Alhaji Abubakar, fuelling speculations that he could still be scheming to contest the election.

Alhaji Dhacko told newsmen in Minna, Niger State, on Friday, that “we (Atiku group) know General Babangida to be ‘a gentleman’ and a ‘respecter of agreement, he cannot go against an agreement he voluntarily entered into.

“As a soldier, who rose to the highest pick of his career  cannot go back to his vomit.”

The chairman added that “IBB has spoken and we take him for his words, we believe that as one of the leaders of the North, he will not go back on the agreement he voluntarily entered into.”

You can believe whatever makes you feel good but IBB has said himself on TV that his current priority is to help Atiku win PDP primaries.

Funny.

I see you don't know why he is called maradona. In the days when he wielded a vast armoury of bombs and guns (which he had a maniacal itch to employ liberally), it wasn't very wise to refer to as liar or jipiti etc, so "maradona" came into being. . .

Gone are those days, we can now call him what we know him to be; liar, conman, vampire, vulture, criminal, swindler, imposter, cheat, DEMON etc

Am glad that JEGA supporters did not plan for Atiku - Playing the IBB card on Atiku is not working at all. There is hope for Nigeria!
