The district head of Gwale, Mannir Sunusi Danburam and two others are before a federal high court in Kano to challenge the powers and competence of the state public complaint and anti-corruption commission (PCACC) to investigate the finances of the Kano emirate council.

Sagir Sulaiman Gezawa, a counsel on the side of the plaintiffs, said Thursday that though the matter was scheduled for hearing, it could not go on because of “some oversight on the part of all the counsel in respect of the matter.

“On the last adjourned date on the 14th of November 2019, the court ordered that fresh copies of all the processes be exchanged because there was a joinder of additional parties. But parties were unable to comply with that order to file fresh processes bearing the names of the new defendants, so the matter could not go on and was further adjourned”, Gezawa said.
