Give Telco insensitive to drive this , govt must not be involved in such things especially an unaccountable govt like Nigerian govt. This 700 million dollars should be instead channeled into other critical infrastructure like electricity or roads.... Spending 700 million on broadband when you have heavy electricity deficit makes no damn sense like is the Federal govt going to use Generators to power the broadband infrastructure just like the Telcos are doing ?

What we need now is constant electricity firstly in all major towns and cities and then in every rural communities. The other things will follow automatically.

All of them are important. Besides, the government has not abandoned electricity. The government agreement with Siemens will soon roll out its implementable plans.

Then you must be a learner! Police harass anyone with a laptop and label him/her a yahoo boy. For government to be serious, they need to give an order for these harassment to stop full time!

You can’t say you want to drive the data/communication industry and still feign ignorance of what helpless and hardworking Nigerians go through in the hands of the useless Nigerian police!

Am I the only one or have you all noticed, if these guys want to siphone money, they come up with future projects that wouldn't be accounted for and in the end no one will ask questions?

That was how they promised stable power till they ended up privatizing. Yet, No stable power.

Broadband needs stable power to be efficient and for the end users to even untilize. Now, Seems they putting the cart before the horse.

If I get elected, I wouldn't use that expensive Benz Buhari rides in, Instead that CHEAP LEXUS on my page would do, so to save money.

Power was privatized before GEJ

This is an excellent development. Those who know, know. This is the information age. And it's a PPP arrangement. Investors prefer when govt has a stake in what they're doing just for some show off faith. Plus it's usually a requirement for financing. There is a lot more to internet penetration to a society than complaining on Nairaland!
