It was a nessecary mistake , when US use nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaka , Japanese Airforce saw the planes incoming and felt it was an Harmless plane..

I believe comuinication from Iranian Air Tower and the Plane was jammed, and since Iran saw a plane flying to close for comfort they radioed the pilot several time without response before being forced to take an action

Who arms an anti Aircraft battery in a active commercial aviation corridor , the stupid Iranians say the thought it was a US cruise missile , didnt they have proper radar coverage to know that the origin of the "super large cruise missile " was from the Tehran airport which was still receiving and letting flights take off ...the Russians made SA 15 guantlet used to bring down the plane has a radar capable measuring size and speed of the target before being fired so how did Iranian military mistake a 737 for a cruise missile ..please see the size difference between both below
