The Supreme court has stand down Judgement on Imo Governorship Election suit challenging the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State.

The Supreme Court has stood down judgment in the suit challenging the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha of Imo State.

The Supreme Court took the decision on Tuesday while hearing the appeal filed by the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the March 9 election, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.

Senator Ararume filed the appeal to challenge Governor Ihedioha’s election after he lost at the Imo State Governorship Election Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

Meanwhile Uche Nwosu withdraws case against Ihedioha’s election at Supreme Court

There is heavy tension in Imo state after the Supreme Court stood down judgment in the suit challenging the election of Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

It's semantics...."stood down judgement" means to deliver judgement today.

The Justices have risen and asked everyone to go for a two-hour break. When they re-convene, they will read the judgements of the Imo and Sokoto appeals.

Say around 5pm.

Other states will come at a later date.


Imo and Sokoto's cases will expire on or before 19th been Sunday. Hence, other cases that will expire from 20th above (Adamawa, Plateau, Bauchi & Benue) will be re-visited at a later date.
