Whenever someone dies, we tell him or her to Rest In Peace.

Why?

Who told us that departed souls are somewhere ''resting''? ''In peace''?

Research indicates that in the next world to which we depart, life is far more abundant, dynamic, interesting, vivacious, and action-packed than whatever we can begin to imagine on 'Earth'.

Even our African religion is steeped in this knowledge, of the great, functioning systems, beyond this dimension, peopled by active souls. An earth life is a choice souls make for various reasons to do with learning, teaching, experiencing 'evil' etc. It helps a soul's evolution to experience human life because of the trials and tribulations that strengthen ultimately the soul, in its spiritual evolution..

In fact in the 'spirit world' - our real home - where we all return to, souls who'd lived an earth life are regarded with great respect and acclaim by other souls not so inclined to do so. It is a big decision for a soul to decide to be born human and live a brief earth life. They are leaving a life of abundance and comfort to experience pain and suffering, disappointment, and other 'earth/human' conditions. A mental 'veil' is placed over them before they are born, so they do not recollect their status as immortal souls.

But upon 'death', we return to that knowledge, continue living our lives as powerful souls of God, and most certainly, are not ''resting in peace''.

At death no more struggles, no fear, no anxiety, no aspiration, no happiness, no sorrow, All is at rest. Rest. Every other thing is just imagination of uncertainty by those on this side.

It's an old tradition based on the belief that the 'spirit' of some dead people usually experience unrest after their demise.
