The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said that the average price per litre paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene increased by 0.96% month-on-month and by 10.27% year-on-year to N320.59 in December 2019 from N317.54 in November 2019.

The bureau announced this in a “National Household Kerosene Price Watch (December 2019)’’ released on Friday in Abuja.

According to the report, states with the highest average price per litre of kerosene were Imo (N386.01), Gombe (N380.95), and Adamawa (N360.21).

Also, states with the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Delta (N260.48), Borno (N269.81) and Abuja (N273.33).

Similarly, the average price per gallon paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene increased by 0.20% month-on-month and by 4.87% year-on-year to N1,212.75 in December 2019 from N1,210.37 in November 2019.

“States with the highest average price per gallon of kerosene were Adamawa (N1,325.00), Borno/Jigawa (N1,300.00) and Abia (N1,291.67).”

“States with the lowest average price per gallon of kerosene were Delta (N1,122.27), Bayelsa (N1,129.17) and Akwa Ibom (N1,136.00).”

However, the average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) increased by 0.92% month-on-month and decreased by -1.66% year-on-year to N2,018.68 in December 2019 from N2,000.29 in November 2019.

Also, states with the highest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Bauchi (N2,491.57), Borno (N2,383.33) and Adamawa (N2,379.36).

“States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Ebonyi (N1,702.47), Kaduna (N1,800.00) and Abuja (N1,805.40).”

Similarly, average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) increased by 1.34% month-on-month and decreased by -3.60% year-on-year to N4,176.20 in December 2019 from N4,121.15 in November 2019.

“States with the highest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Akwa Ibom (N4,680.05), Cross River (N4,638.76) and Benue (N4,600.00).”

“States with the lowest average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) were Zamfara (N3,600.00), Kano (N3,689.17) and Kaduna (N3,720.00).”
