Spending long hours of a journey while sitting down in a vehicle can cause pains. Medical experts even said that dormancy can increase the risk of one having diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high blood pressure.

Jaguar Land Rover has found a way to ease off the negative effects of sitting down in a car for too long by introducing a shape-shifting seat (also called morphable technology) which tricks drivers and passengers into thinking they are walking when in reality, they're sitting down in the car.

The UK automaker fitted the foam of the high-tech seat with actuators to make it constantly be in motion.

As gathered by Naijauto , each seat can be adjusted to suit an individual's needs and body type.

Chief Medical Officer of JLR, Dr. Steve Iley, stated that the rationale for the morphable seat is 1.4 billion people across the globe who spend more time sitting down than walking around and this can cause muscle shortening in the hips, legs, and gluteals, which will, in turn, lead to back pain.

He said,

"We are using our engineering expertise to develop the seat of the future using innovative technologies not seen before in the automotive industry to help tackle an issue that affects people across the globe."

The seat which is still being tested is said to mimic walking rhythm, called pelvic oscillation and can reduce the health risk associated with sitting in a car for too long.

This isn't the first project rolled out by Jaguar Land Rover to make customers safer and healthier. A feature that stops the spread of flu and cold through the use of ultraviolet light is one such.

You struggle to buy a car so you can sit and reach your destination now they're simulating it to make you walk.

It is finished.
