...to meet with auditor-general for local government, perm sec local govt commission

The Cross River State Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Stella Oreme Odey has suspended the State's Local Government Pensions Board.

In a terse statement signed by Mrs. Odey on Monday said that all activities of the board are suspended with immediate effect until further notice.

The commissioner directed the auditor general and permanent secretary of the Local Government Service Commission to meet with her for further directives.

Mrs Odey said the action is in the best interest of the state and pensioners.

The statement reads, "All activities of the Local Government Pensions' Board are hereby suspended with immediate effect, till further notice.

"The Auditor-General for Local Government and Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, are to meet with the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs for further directives.

"Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated."
