MARTIN LUTHER KING'S REMEMBRANCE DAY: Our today's reaction as Oppressed!

It is gainsaid that Martin Luther king Jr. has created an indelible mark in global history in his pursuit against all forms of racial discrimination, and a major contributor to the sanity we enjoy today which has to do with the equality of all race, in the fair share of things that we live to celebrate him.

We equally wouldn't fail to pay credence to advocates of negritude, pan Africanist and frontiers of African decolonization like, Marcus Garvey of Jamaica, haile selassie of Ethiopia, Nnamdi Azikiwe of Nigeria, Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Thomas Sankara of Burkina-faso, Nkrumah of Ghana and a many but a few to mention who fervently stood adamantly in the midst of challenges to speak up for what they believe is worthwhile through litigation's, their campaigns, and series of conference. Etc.

It is sadden that the narrative has changed. Instead of a paradigm shift, we're now experiencing a drawback from the developmental strides these leaders has set in giving away their yesterday for our today. even as a growing writer, (Rapheal Alali) the fear of speaking up most times hunts the efficacy of my articles in spitting out the ineffective nature of leadership and conservative attitudes of the led in my country Nigeria and continent of Africa.

We're so engulfed with the fear of our very own shadow, the impetus to speak in the face of brutality, animosity, and all forms of oppression has been stabbed by greed, and the love of our own self, insanity has grown so wild, devouring every good left in the society.
Nobody wants to be identified as a rebel, nobody wants to stand alone, nobody wants to speak up for the oppressed, the downtrodden, the vulnerable, and have-not.

Tom Paine avers; "these are times that tries men souls". Yes, our morality has been put to test and we've all failed our conscience.
Therefore we must strive to speak up against all forms of oppression, inhumanity of man to man and make the society a better place. The society can never get better if we don't speak up against injustice, corrupt leadership, nepotism, tribalism, electoral fraud, weak institutions of government, and all indices inimical to societal growth.

Roseanne Cash avers; "The key to change... is to let go of fear.".
This is because at the gates of hell, all fears must disappear and all doubts be cast aside because he that is down needs fear no fall.
