A solar conduit is a tube that is used to protect wire, while it passes through different regions of a house, office or any other commercial place. It also helps in providing a path for the wire in the building structure. It can be used for both open and concealed wiring as well.

Manufactures provide users with a wide range of option for the conduits. Depending upon the application, the type can be picked. Metal, plastic, or fibre are the common materials that are used in making of these tubes. People mainly use these protective coverings to avoid exposure to sunlight and other elements that could cause harm to the wire and the power system altogether.

Solar conduits are generally classified into metallic and non-metallic. The most common option for metallic tubing includes:

• Rigid metal conduit: This thick-walled tubing is generally made of steel, galvanized steel or aluminium. These metal tubes are capable of providing protection from outdoor damage. They could also be used for structural support for electrical cables, panels and other equipment.

• Intermediate metal conduit: These thinner and lightweight tubes are made of rigid steel, mainly used for strong connections and outdoor exposure. The design of the tubes is such that they can protect insulated electrical conductors and cables.

• Flexible metal conduit: the spiral make of the conduit helps in using them through walls and other structures. They work well for bends and twists, without the need for any additional accessories. These flexible pipes, waterproof, and so can be used in areas that experience a lot of moisture.

• Electrical metal tubing: The rigid electrical conduit is made of galvanised steel or aluminium. They are thin and lightweight, so-known as a thin wall in the industry.

The other variety that rules the construction industry includes the non-metallic version. This version of the conduit is also available in rigid and flexible type. Mainly they are known as PVC. People love using them, mainly because they are moisture-resistant, corrosion-free and are easy to install.

Installing a conduit consists of taking correct measurements and then cutting, threading, bending them, to fit accurately for the projects. It is always better to fix these tubes in such a way that they run straight and direct, with fewer bends, as much as well.

Contacting popular dealers would help in getting top-quality tubes for homes and offices at a low cost. They would be able to suggest the best version for different application, thus help in making decisions that could enhance the safety features of the building.
