They were both finance ministers.
Awolowo during the civil war while she from 2011 to 2015 a time when we received our highest ever oil revenue in history

Awolowo did not borrow to prosecute the war and maintained a surplus

She on the other hand mismanaged the huge oil revenues to the extent that she was borrowing in 2015 to pay salaries and the currency started to crash


The currency was stable under Awolowo
