The Bayelsa Police Command on Friday warned residents to refrain from taking laws into their hands at crime scenes to avoid arrest and prosecution.

Akelicious reports that the warning came on the heels of Thursday’s mob action against two armed robbery suspects at Green Villa Road, Biogbolo area of Yenagoa.

Akelicious reports that residents and sympathizers who responded to distress call from an operators of a Point of Sales (PoS) terminal cash operator, apprehended the two suspected armed robbers, disarmed and beat them to death.

The irate mob took the remains of the two robbers into the Lexus car they operated with and set it ablaze before the arrival of the Police.

SP Asinim Butswat, spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, condemned the act, saying that the Command had commenced investigations.

“ Bayelsa State Police Command condemned the mob action which led to the death of two yet to be identified male adults at Biogbolo, Yenagoa.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Uche Anozia, has ordered investigation and those responsible for the act would be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

I guess it's high time we stop this madness of beating robbers to death but on a second thought they deserve it because if u have been a victim you will understand, but notwithstanding the shouldn't be killed and burnt they can be giving the beating of a life time but not life threaten beating ooo. Then hand them over to the police not kill them we ain't barbarians but decent and exposed humans so let's all act like one

Notwithstanding, they shud nt be burnt to death or killed.. Some where wrongly accused and av been killed b4 those useless mob realise that he was innocent......

My point is, some are actually innocent and falsely accused...

Even for those that are guilty, I suggest they shud be beaten by the mob but not killed. Beaten but not killed....

As harsh as this is- The police and the Nigerian Courts won’t give you justice!

Justice is sold to the highest bidder! Mob action should endorsed in some states where crimes are high!

The Nigerian security outfits are a joke with double standards! Is it the same constitution for crimes and punishment they use for the North they also use for the other parts of the country?

Yet some zombies here on nairaland would be screaming “One Nigeria”. Shame on all of you!
