This is not directly a response to the account or articles of Chief Ogbonna Nwuke but from what i saw, it is not comprehensive enough to go home with (because most names like Gabriel Pidomson, who was the closest to CRA then was not seen and many others then).

Also, most actions of players in that article could have been misconstrued to be 'betrayal' because the personal interplay in between both individuals was certainly not captured in the article, but he only dueled upon the outcome as seen to be 'betrayal'

If we want to genuinely talk about politics and betrayals in Rivers state, the best point to start from in other to know who betrayed who, how and why will be from the time of Sir Rufus Ada George and more especially SIR DOCTOR PETER ODILI (at least this is the beginning point of this democracy that is still running).

If ex-rayed deeply, you will see that not even one soul can be exonerated. For all have sinned in this line of discuss.

So, let us not start from a suitable point, especially in the spirit of eye service to judge the system or judge others and call them betrayals.

For me i still believe and I insist that the problems in Rivers State APC is purely the product of bad or wrong decisions.

Worse still, the negative outcome of such decisions also got escalated through the art of sycophancy and eye service - Knowing the truth and looking the other way just to make the leader happy at the moment and to blend into the team of his "so called loyalist" because we want to be seen as die hard loyalist at all cost. In lieu of our expected gain therein.

Bad decisions were taking in anger and instead of being sober and group efforts made to bring the attention of the leader to such a wrong decision.

Rather, we idolized such wrong decisions and praised the leader to high heavens just to make him fill perfect, which as human, he can't be. And just like the monkeys would jump up and down and even clap in excitement when trees are felled. Even though it is his own house that is being felled for that matter. So we all celebrated our doom.

Howbeit, knowing for a fact that such a decision is poorly taken and would rather yield a negative result in the end. We sang songs of praise to the leaders and sang war songs to those who disagrees. Suffix it to say that, such bad decisions were serially taken until it became a pattern. With unmitigated bad outcomes.

Unfortunately, whosoever is bold to say no to such decisions is tagged a betrayal and just as the work of art which it is, the youth are psyched to pick and flow with such narrative.

Their can't be a political activity anywhere in the world without disagreement and or dispute. If it be so, then why tag all who disagree as betrayal. And instead spoil the whole system, rather than unite in disagreement and sort for a suitable way forward.

It is very possible that the person(s) we call betrayals according to the account of Chief Ogbonna Nwuke may have acted in the spirit of loyalty to the party as it were, previous agreements or loyalty to Sir Dr Peter Odili who was then, the leader of the party/Rivers State politics. During which time, our leader today, CRA was seen to be rebellious to the leader -Odili then.

Will it also surprise us to know that some or most of those we call betrayals today, may believe and strongly hold that they were actually the ones been betrayed by CRA.

What about those faithful party suppers who died in the processes of our electioneering in 2015 and 2019 and their loved ones have long been abandoned by the party (despite all the big positions held by leader(s)).

Do we realise, they also feel betrayed by the party. Which is true and correct. So why don't we add ourselves to the list of the betrayals.

Their brethren and leaders, the fact is, the betrayal narrative in our polity doesn't add. So let's look the other way and begin to reexamine the kind of decisions leadership takes.

Most importantly, let's genuinely seek peace and reconciliation so that the party will bounce back.

Public confidence on the party is more important than the internal accusations and counter accusations.

Even the internal victory we think or hope to achieve, is not profitable, if the public feels otherwise about the party.
