CNPP CONDEMN PROTESTING PARTY CHAIRMEN AND WARN IMPOSTORS TO STAY CLEAR ENUGU STATE POLITICS.

When the leaders choose to make themselves bidders at an auction of popularity, their talents, in the construction of the state, will be of no service. They will become flatterers instead of opinion leaders; their instruments will be guided by their selfish agenda and not the will or wishes of the people.

This contained in a release issued by the State Chairman of CNPP, Chief Adonis Igwe , condemning in totality the protest by some persons who claimed to be party chairmen at the office of Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) on friday. The said party chairmen went to the ENSIEC office alleging that ENSIEC demanded they pay money before issuing them the nomination form for the local government election, when they are only protesting to achieve cheap popularity.

The CNPP boss frowned at the attitude of some persons parading themselves as party chairmen. He stated that no one can intimidate or bully the government by framing up lies and false accusations against the government. Is really very unfortunate that some persons who called themselves party chairmen are not, stating that is shocking to know that none of the protesting party chairmen have gone to the ENSIEC office to confirm actually if it is true that ENSIEC demanded money before issuing them the nominating form but quick to rush to protest because they want to embarrassed the government of Enugu and blackmail the state electoral body (ENSIEC). So bad that someone who called themselves party chairmen can easily be influenced without them seeking to find out the truth about the matter. Is obvious they are out there to achieve a selfish agenda.

CNPP as a body with integrity will never be part of the lies against the government or any individual or group of persons for cheap popularity. Chief Igwe stated that CNPP is for peace, development and well being of the people of Enugu state and will never deviate from its aims and objectives. CNPP is not an enemy of the government and stand for justice and development of the people of Enugu state.

As a law abiding body, CNPP consider the protest by some party Chairmen as a misplaced priority, stating that CNPP is ready and willing to support both the government and ENSIEC to conduct a hitch free election so far they abide by rules according to the law establishing ENSIEC.

CNPP warned that anybody trying to manipulate or create undue tension in this proposed local government election will not go unpunished as the body is ready to use all it arsenals to bring the person(s) to justice.

While responding to newsmen on whether the body will resort to protest if the government deviate from the rules of engagement in the local government election, Chief Igwe said that, first thing first, he stated that is the people's right to protest but the body is well grounded, knowledgeable and disposed to use any legitimate means to address any unjust policy in the state but protest is and should be the last on the list.

The body assured both the government and ENSIEC of their maximum support and advised them not to loose sleep on the purported protest by the so called party Chairmen. Assuring the people that CNPP is on top of the matter, that the local election will be conducted free and fair and no one will loose his or her life. And pleaded with the residents to be law abiding while asking all the security agents to be very professional in the discharge of their duty.
