The Red Devils are set to complete their first signing of the January transfer window after resurrecting talks over the Portugal international.

Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Sporting C.P. midfielder Bruno Fernandes in a deal worth an initial €55 million (£47m/$60m).

Ovasports can confirm that following a breakthrough in talks between the two clubs on Tuesday, the deal is close to being completed ahead of FIFA’s Friday’s transfer deadline.

Fernandes – on the trip wearing a black Homer Simpson T-shirt – beamed at the camera as he was snapped alongside his agent on his private jet.

He was then transported to United’s regular pre-match haunt 'The Lowry hotel, where he will spend the night before undergoing his Utd medical examinations today.
