Pelosi Pulls Disrespectful Stunt at SOTU Address — Tears Up Speech Behind the President’s Back By Ron Laden - February 4, 2020
At the end of the speech, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pulled an extremely disrespectful stunt.
Pelosi tore up a copy of President Trump’s State of the Union address in order to express her disapproval. This occurred behind the President’s back as cameras were still capturing him at the end of the speech.
Trump’s supporters have criticized the House speaker of being extremely disrespectful.
In addition to this stunt, Pelosi is responsible for launching and leading the now-failed impeachment inquiry in the House of Representatives against President Trump.
The impeachment sham has been a complete witch hunt and it has failed to find any high crimes or treason in evidence. This has led the President’s supporters to describe the impeachment trial as a “hoax,” considering the fact it was all based on lies.
Earlier in the evening, President Trump appeared to decline a handshake offer by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at the State of the Union address. From my personal perspective, it seemed as though President Trump had already turned and failed to see Pelosi’s outstretched hand.
Regardless, Trump walked into the House chamber to raucous applause from GOP members of Congress and handed copies of his speech to Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence, the NY Post reported.
“After he handed a copy of the speech to Pelosi, she reached out and offered the president her hand for a shake,” the report added.
Trump did not extend his hand to meet here. Instead, the President turned his back on Pelosi.
Pelosi shrugged in response. You can watch the moment in the clip below.
“As President Donald Trump took his place at the front of the House chamber for his State of the Union address, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi reached out to shake his hand, but Trump did not take it,” CNN reported.
More from NY Post:
Chants of “four more years” broke out from GOP lawmakers and other supporters who were there to cheer on the president.
Trump’s speech on Tuesday was scheduled for an especially fraught time between the executive branch and Congress.
The Senate is set to end an impeachment trial on Wednesday with an acquittal, clearing the president of wrongdoing.
Democrats have accused Trump of using his office to force a foreign country to investigate his political rivals in the impeachment trial and then obstructing Congress by refusing to turn over documents or let staffers testify.
Nancy Pelosi ripped up my father's speech last night.
In that speech were stories of American Heroes and American Dreams. Sacrifice and honor. Men and women who gave everything for this country. These are their faces.
Pelosi ripped up their stories. But guess what?
We will rip up her Impeachment Articles today.
After that, let's all tear up the Democrat’s chances in 2020.
