Comprehensive Ranking System
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is the points-based system used to assess and score profile and will be used to rank you in the Express Entry pool.
Bear in mind that the Express Entry is an application process for skilled immigrants who want to settle in Canada permanently and take part in the economy.
So, if you ask me how Express Entry works? It is broad but it simply includes work experience, education and language skills for each program. This you can’t set aside the Comprehensive Ranking System. (CRS)
This ranking system is dependent on certain criteria for each individual.
The points you get from the CRS include a core set of points up to 600 and a set of additional points of up to 600. Your total score will be out of 1,200.
Core: Up to 600 points
Skills and experience factors
Education qualification: Highest scores starts from Masters and Ph.D. holders
Marital Status: Spouse or common-law partner factors, such as their language skills and education
Working Experience with maximum scores for 3years experience
Skills transferability, including education and work experience
Additional: Up to 600 points
Canadian degrees, diplomas or certificates
Age: The highest scores range from ages 20-29
Job offer : Having a job offer improves your scores as well.
Provincial Nominee: a nomination from a province or territory
Siblings in Canada: a brother or sister living in Canada who is a citizen or permanent resident
Except for Quebec, French is a widely acknowledged language here so having strong French language skills aids your score.
Core points + Additional points = your total score

The significance of this score determines the set of individuals selected by the random Express entry Pool to apply on permanent residency.
