Help me appreciate my poem. People have told me they like it. But I want more intelligent appraisal. MAYBE SOMEDAY, THE VEHICLE OF SUCCESS WILL TRAVEL OUR ROAD Maybe someday the vehicle of success will travel our road And our fathers will finally be happy for bearing a son The extended families, those who wish us well, will rejoice too And the entire Village will echoe, "Anyi Nwere Mmadu". Maybe someday the vehicle of success will travel our road And mates will stop to ask, " what is he doing now"? And those who boarded the vehicle earlier than us Will rejoice to see us arrive or frown that we afforded the fare That is depending on their heart. Maybe someday the vehicle of success will travel our road And our pictures will stop looking odd from the rest We too will start to take and change pictures frequently 'cause we'll have clothes to change And they will start to like and comment. Yes. They would want to tap our blessing. Maybe someday the vehicle of success will travel our road Then we will tell you why it took us so long We will tell you then because if we try to tell you now, you might not have time for us. And then too, we would afford to buy you drink while you hear our story. Maybe someday the vehicle of success will travel our road See these lines not as lamentations of the frustrated See them rather as the expressions of the hopeful But if the vehicle of success never travels our own road, we will draw equanimity in amor fati. #AWOL. 1 Like |
