The meeting may not be unconnected with a summon issued last week by the House of Representatives because of the deteriorating security situation in the country.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that respected leaders in the north threw their weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari and his security chiefs.
It was reported that the leaders under the aegis of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) gave their support the wake of the criticisms of the Buhari administration over the growing security challenges.
They urged the president and the security chiefs to remain focused on their war against the Boko Haram insurgency and other security challenges rocking the country.
In a related development, President
Buhari set up a committee to periodically review the security situation in the country.
The speaker stated that the committee will periodically review the issue of security, maybe once a month or once in six weeks.
