Rising from a meeting of Stake holders of the people’s Democratic Party in Ukwa West LGA of Abia State, the party resolved to suspend the party chairman Elder Dike Ogbonna over what they described as acts of Gross administrative Incompetence, High handedness and Anti party activities, in a communiqué released to the press after the meeting they described as wishful thinking the announcement made on social media suspending some stake holders in Ukwa west by the suspended party chairman, according to the release no such meeting ever held where the decision was reached, and described the purported meeting as a figment of Elder Ogbonna’s imagination, they said they are aware that elder Dike Ogbonna has been holding secret meetings with opposition parties in Ukwa west which amounts to antiparty activity, the stake holders in a joint signatory of over 15 stake holders and political office holders, all the ward chairmen and party officials from Ukwa West PDP have resolved to with immediate effect suspend Elder Dike Ogbonna as the LGA party chairman.

When the News Gazette Online contacted Barrister Henry Chilaka, a PDP stalwart in Ukwa west and one of the signatories to the letter of suspension on Elder Dike Ogbonna, he described as unfortunate the actions of the suspended party chairman who he said his activities has over time affected the fortunes of the party in Ukwa West and confirmed the suspension of the Elder Dike Ogbonna as true

The body of ward chairmen and local government area executives of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Ukwa West Local government area chapter, rising from an extra-ordinary emergency meeting and after considering matters of urgent public importance and a purported meeting touted on the social media and some media houses that our leaders, Hon. Godwin Adiele, member Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief A.C. Nwaje, the T.C Chairman of Ukwa West Local government council and Barr. Henry Chilaka, former sole administrator and currently commissioner one (1) in ASOPADEC, has been suspended from the party. Further, vote of no confidence has purportedly been passed on the house member with their wishful thinking of recalling him. We make the following resolutions:

1. That no meeting of such took place over the weekend as alleged to the best of our knowledge.
2. We read such meeting on social media, wherein we noticed that active members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and other political parties were said to be in attendance.

3. Till now, no complaint of indiscipline has been lodged to us either in part or as a whole against any of the aforementioned leaders of the party.
4. The constitutionally approved procedure for impeachment, recall, suspension, was not followed as provided in chapter ten (10) of PDP constitution as amended. The provision in part gives the world under our leadership the pass to commence such disciplinary process.

5. Their action is inimical to the growth, progress and integrity of the party as it has caused us embarrassment in the committee of parties. Consequent upon the foregoing and our resolve to defend, protect and uphold the integrity of party (PDP). We thereby resolve as follows:
-That elder Dike Ogbonna is hereby suspended by the party pending the outcome of the investigation.

- That Elder Dike Ogbonna should hand over to his deputy with immediate effect. This body also observed that the suspended chairman, elder Dike Ogbonna has not summoned any local government area party executive meeting in the past three (3) years. We hereby pass vote of confidence on our leaders. They are Hon. Godwin A. Adiele, member, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief S.U. Nwaje, T.C Chairman Ukwa West Local government area, Hon.
