THE last is yet to be heard about the recent seizure of over $8million by the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, at the premises of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, MMIA, as the alleged owner said the actual amount was $9million as against the total of $8.1 million declared by the Customs. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/02/more-controversy-over-8m-seized-at-the-airport/ 1 Like

orisa37: E no go pass that froggy eye for Ikoyi !! He is the only one Customs boss Hammeed will fear like this ..well the officers that stole almost 2 million dollars from the money will vomit it they way it's going ... From day one I said the customs were just being sensational because only banks , bureau de change or a powerfulAPC politician can carry so much money in carton to Nahco terminal for airlifting 86 Likes 6 Shares |

Reminds me of the case of Atiku Abubakar(then a customs boss) and the intercepted briefcases of money during Buhari's military regine. Well, for such a huge amount to be transported in cash—without fear of being named 'laundering— then it must have been classified as money that belongs to a company or business enterprise. Hence, the owner is bold to claim the actual amount of 9million. But this is a case of "thief carry, thief collect am". Customs must show prove that they didn't steal out of the money. I had a similar experience with immigration last November and about #72000 was missing. 7 Likes |

“One suspect, the driver of the bus, Chimezie Okonkwo, was immediately arrested and taken into custody with the intercepted consignmentDriver Chimezie may not even know the content of the carriage in the first place. Why not let us know the owner(s) of the money instead of detaining this poor man? How long will it take to fish them all out? Koralords:9 Million Naira for one trip? Some workers salary in 3 years! If this is true, then we retract our comment above! Sho! One thing all of us @ will like everyone to know is that......... 5 Likes 5 Shares

"He said, “You can be doing your report but the money in question belongs to a VIP in the ruling party, what are you going to do to him? “Let me tell you, the arrest was a mistake, the Customs has been contacted and the matter is being resolved amicably. Let me also tell you that he is saying his money is $9million; so there are issues, but it is being resolved. The press conference was not necessary, all the stakeholders are part of the government and people are not supposed to rock the boat.” Things are going on in this kwantry in this administration.... 18 Likes
