Reports today 12/02/2020 that claims that the Mo Salah would be one of the three special selected players who would join Egypt’s under-23 squad for the 2020 Olympics in Japan

Egypt are among the three African nations who qualified for the Olympics football tournament thus year, along with Ivory Coast and South Africa.

Before losing to Japan in the quater finals; Salah played for his nation in the 2012 Olympics in the UK, scoring in all three of his nation’s group games

Ramy Abbas Issa stated clearly that no decision has yet been taken over the Liverpool star’s participation in this year’s Olympic Games.

It was strongly suggested on Wednesday that Salah’s inclusion as one of the “special” three players in Egypt’s under-23 squad was a formality, with coach Shawky Gharib saying that the federation had “settled on” calling up the country’s super star.

The Olympics football tournament whose males’ run from July 24 to August 8 this year. Notably, the finals will be played just as the date the 2020/21 Premier League season will kick off.

Hence, Salah missing events like the final two weeks of Liverpool’s pre-season, Community Shield appearance and possibly the first game of the league season.

Ramy; “Out of the three senior players we’ll call-up, Salah is the only one we’re settled on so far because he’s simply one of the top three players in the world,” Shawky told ON Sport, via the Mail Online.

“I haven’t talked to Salah at all about him joining the under-23 squad for the Olympics, but in all honesty, his participation in the Olympics will need a little effort from him as well.”

Red boss Jurgen Klopp has already share his opinion on the matter, stating that he would not be “too convenient” with losing one of his potential players for the opening of the new season.
