PMB notes that el-Rufai’s entry into public
service was truly accidental, but the
contributions he has made are deliberate,
well thought out and long lasting, also
highlighting his diligent contributions to the
2015 political upset that heralded take- over of power by the APC.
The President prays that the almighty God

Governor and his family, and grant him
good health to sustain the good work.
In his message, President Buhari said that although
the governor's entry into public service was
accidental, his contributions so far to the growth of
the nation have been well-thought-of and strategic.

and wisdom as he continues to lead the state to
greater positive heights. Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that el Rufai had said that around 10 people had shown interest to
succeed him come 2023 after the expiration of his tenure. He made this known just after he denied the
rumour that he had handpicked one of those who
were coveting the highest executive post. The governor, during a phone-in programme on
Friday night, January 10, said that only God gives power to whoever he chose. El Rufai said that it was everybody’s constitutional
right to aspire towards the post, it was quite early
to start having that ambition, as he had just spent a
year. “Even though everyone has the right to aspire as
long as he meets the constitutional requirements

for the next four years and we have not spent even

aspire. "To me, this is not only a distraction but a disservice
to the people who voted us,” he said. The governor
also said that he called for stakeholders meeting
warned people who work with him to be careful as
he will deal with whoever does not take their work
seriously.
