A US base Ghanaian surgeon, Dr Moses deGragft-Johnson has been indicted after allegedly falsify 26 million dollars of medical equipments and fake surgeries.
The Ghanaian born surgeon who is facing 58 counts of indictments has been accused of performing unnecessary procedures on patients, billing health care companies millions for surgeries he never performed.
According to court documents. Moses deGragft own and operate the heart and vascular Institute of North Florida since September 2015.
Federal persecutor said in court that they believe that there were more than 3,600 surgeries billed over 5 years with 85-90% of them being fraudulent.
Federal persecutor request in court that Dr Moses deGragft be detain because he has the tendency of fleeing to Ghana where he is dreaming to become the country's President. According to persecutor he has two passports both showing that he has dual citizenships for the United States and Ghana.
