Officialgarri: My guy, see as them just dey attack you from left right and center, but you said the truth. Government policies are indeed beyond what we read here. People just come and talk, and when done, wait for the next thread. Before border closure and now, the difference is in just a little or lower N1 Billion. Nothing has changed. From August 2019 till now, 5 months, they've made an extra N5 Billion based on what customs were previously remitting. That'll just N60 Billion extra in a year. It is based on this that the OP is asking or someone is asking for him that why is the government still borrowing? Na wa oo. Indeed Government policies are indeed beyond what we read here. |

voltron14: We both know the answer to that question... No need for jibes and beating about the bush. We can't excuse leadership incompetence forever... Using the minor inadequacies of older countries to mask or excuse our failures won't take us a step closer to progress. |

Angelfrost: How can all the problems of a country of 180 million be caused by less than 2 thousand people? Are they also responsible for the GDP Per Capita being less than 2000 dollars? Face it, We are still quite primitive people. We believe in Superstition above science. We peddle rumours rather than face facts. We are largely dubious and this isn't the exclusive of the elite. We are largely unproductive and as a result we are 100 of years behind on the developmental ladder. |

WE HAVE MONEY ON PAPER BUT NOT EVIDENTLY IN THE LIFE OF PEOPLE... And what are those Monies used for in the economy today.. What role/ impact are these heavy financial figures playing in the economy?? They just raked the money, and keep it there, without using it to create opportunities back into the economy. THERE IS WITHDRAWAL OF MONEY FROM THE ECONOMY AND NO INJECTION BACK INTO THE ECONOMY THE ECONOMY REMAINS STATIC, STAGNANT AND STALE. NO IMPROVEMENT IN THE STANDARD OF LIVES OF THE CITIZENS. Nigerian leaders are bunch of hypocrites, the customs support this closure because of what they gain between 2am and 4am daily. Seme border is smuggle in goods from 2am to 4am daily, they pay the Custom officers huge bribe, Money that's going into their personal pocket. My main problem is, anytime they talk about the reason for border closure, they tend to leave out the reason they close border on their own citizens from 6pm to 6am daily. The immigration officers now demand bribe to allow a Nigerian Citizen with every legal rights and travel documents, cross into his own Country... A failed state indeed. 1 Like 1 Share |

I don't think the average citizen cares one bit about these figures bandied about. Even pre teens can see they just donot add up to what us clearly an economy on the rocks. If everything is up at least something must be going down. That is the natural law of everything from logic to matter to thermodynamics to economics. If earnings are up and inflation is up, borrowings are up, subsidies are up and taxes are up then I can only deduce that something fishy is definitely going down. |
