The memory of last year would not be complete without mentioning the top songs that made us rock every day as though it was a celebration.

This year, 2020 has started in earnest and it is only fair that we talk about the biggest hits to expect from our biggest musicians this year. This list has been compiled based on how they ended 2019 and how they have promised to take 2020 by storm.



1. WIZKID

The Starboy is known to drop back-to-back hits that can get anyone to switch into a dancing mood. His recent hit ‘Joro’ has been making waves all around the world and has been on the top ten of several countdown lists for a while now. Fans are expecting more from him in 2020 because really, we cannot wait to have another hit from the starboy.



2. OLAMIDE

Olamide started the year off on a good note. He recently dropped 4 songs titled 'Rich and Famous', 'Wonma', 'No time' and 'Prophesy'. These songs have been on the playlist of several Nigerian youths and have gathered a lot of streaming, downloads and views on Youtube. We are looking to rock this year with more singles and maybe an album from the Badoo singer this year.



3. TENI

Teni makanaki took the Nigerian music industry by storm about a year ago and has since then been on the top of her game. Almost every single she has dropped has been welcomed by Nigerian and this has placed mist if her songs on top countdown lists for a long time.

Her recent single ‘Billionaire’ talked with the emotional of the regular Nigerian and could well be related to by the average Nigerian. Nigerians are expecting more jams from the queen of jams this year.



4. BURNA BOY

OluwaBurna has been the sensation and talk of the Nigerian music industry for a while now. He rose to the position of the most internationally talked about Nigerian artiste when he got nominated for the 8 Grammy awards. Although he did not win a Grammy, the nomination had earned him a lot of waves on the international scene.

The “Ye” crooner has also managed to do a great job by dropping a lot of hits in the previous year. This has enabled him to win the hearts of many Nigerians.

5. REMA



The 15-year-old young artist from Edo state has stolen the heart of several Nigerians with his musical prowess. He has also managed to win some awards for himself in the previous year and he is not looking to back down soon.



6. NAIRA MARLEY



Naira Marley had been a trending sensation since he was arrested for cybercrime in 2019. He has done well to capitalize on his given fame by releasing several hits that have effortlessly made it to the hearts of Nigerian youths. The personality of Naira Marley has however attracted conflicting opinions as some people believe that he spreads messages that are not proper



7. JOEBOY



Joeboy is one of the few Nigerian artists that had a very good 2019. His two songs ‘beginning’ and ‘baby’ were major hits last year. This appears to be the beginning though as the young talented



8. FIREBOY



The 'jealous' crooner has been on the lips of many Nigerians and many countdown lists since he dropped his hit song 'jealous'. He has followed it up immediately with hits like 'what if I say', 'King' and 'Scatter'.

Nigerians are looking forward to more of Fireboy because we can not get enough of him.



9. DAVIDO


Davido's song, 'Risky', was a major hit in 2019 and was a common song to rock in parties. one thing that fans love about Davido is his ability to constantly drop hits back to back and to work with other artists to release cool songs. Davido is one artist we are watching out for this year.
