President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Barrister Joy Nunieh as the Ag. Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

This follows the decision of the president to enlarge the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) from three to five.

A statement signed by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity) indicates that the new Ag. Managing Director of the NDDC is Professor Kemebradikumo Daniel Pondei.

The appointment of Dr Cairo Ojougboh, Ag. Executive Director (Projects); Mr Ibanga Bassey Etang, Ag. Executive Director (Finance and Administration) were retained.

Also appointed newly were Mrs Caroline Nagbo (Member); and Cecilia Bukola Akintomide, OON, a former Vice President with African Development Bank, (Member).

The statement adds that Prof K.D Pondei, the new Ag. Managing Director, is a Professor of Medicine at the Niger Delta University, and former Provost, College of Health Sciences of the institution.

Bittertruth Media recalls that President Buhari had earlier approved the Interim Management Committee to be in place till the forensic audit of the NDDC was concluded.

So sad that people were screened and confirmed by the National Assembly but up till today, they have not been sworn in while illegal Interim Management Committee is in charge of NDDC. The parliament, led by Ahmed Lawan, that's supposed to act as Checks and Balances to the current recklessness of the executive is dead
