Cancer Causing Household Products by Myhealthetic: 9:40pm On Feb 19, 2020 |
Source: https://myhealthetic.com/2020/02/19/cancer-causing-household-products/ Do you know that some everyday household products/items could cause cancer? Here are some cancer causing house hold products. We are all aware that avoiding smoking, limiting alcohol intake, and limiting exposure to LED lights lowers the chances of getting cancer. However, we may not realize that some everyday products we use at home are cancer causing household products and could really be dangerous to our health and even life threatening. Here are some list of household products that are known carcinogens ( substances capable of causing cancer in living tissue). 1. Air fresheners Especially sprayed air freshener When your house or apartment has a foul or disturbing odor, you might be too quick to grab an air freshener. While they’re a staple in many households, some conventional air fresheners are a hotbed of substances that can leave you or a loved one in your house very ill. In a 2008 study published in the journal Environmental Impact Assessment Review, researchers tested six products for toxic chemicals, some of which were air fresheners. Five of the six products tested emitted one or more carcinogenic chemicals. 2. Household cleaning products/chemicals Your household cleaning products could cause cancer Some products that helps in keeping your house clean can also contain carcinogenic substances. The Environmental Working Group has a Cleaners Hall of Shame list with the worst offenders. In the EWG Group’s Guide to Healthy Cleaning, nearly three-quarters of the 2,500 cleaning products listed contain ingredients that can harm respiratory health, and more than one-quarter contain carcinogenic ingredients. About half of all the products scored low in regards to ingredient disclosure, making it tough to know exactly what ingredients were added. 3. Dryer sheets In a study conducted, 25 scented household products were tested for hazardous chemicals. Nearly half of all the products tested generated at least one carcinogenic air pollutant, and various brands of dryer sheets were tested in this study. Thanks to the olfactory magic of some fabric-softener sheets. They’re a simple product made to soften fabric fibers and give your clothes a nice scent. However, this fragrance could pose health risks, as toxins can permeate those sheets and transfer from your clothes to your skin which could lead to skin cancer. Other Cancer causing household products are.. 4. Pesticides pesticides in fruits and veggies If you have trouble growing fruits and veggies in your garden because of insects, or rodents, you’ve probably used soil containing pesticides to help your produce grow. Pesticides ward away the living things that can destroy your crops, but they’re also carcinogenic. NCBI has stated that studies are finding evidence pesticides used for home gardening are associated with increased cancer risk. 5. Food dye Food dye is found in nearly every processed food, drink, vitamin, and dietary supplement. Studies have shown nine types used in the U.S. could be carcinogenic. According to healthline, most food dyes may contain contaminants that are known cancer-causing substances. 6. Pet flea collars Be mindful of your pet-collars You’re not cleaning your house with this product, but if you have a pet that ventures outdoors, we’re betting it has a flea collar. According to NRDC, Residue levels produced by some flea collars are so high that they pose a risk of cancer and damage to the neurological system of children up to 1,000 times higher than the U.S Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s acceptable levels. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency considers two chemicals found in some varieties of these collars to be carcinogens — propoxur and tetrachlorvinphos. Not only are these chemicals potentially cancer-causing, but they can also cause neurological damage to children. 7. Facial moisturizers Your moisturizer can cause skin cancer Applying moisturizer every day is necessary for good skin care, but many facial creams contain known carcinogenic chemicals (parabens ) which are linked to breast cancer. According to Elle, Parabens are believed to disrupt hormone function by mimicking oestrogen. Too much oestrogen can trigger an increase in breast cell division and growth of tumours, which is why paraben use has been linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues. These common preservatives are used in foundations, cosmetic creams, and anti-aging products of all kinds. While parabens help to prevent bacterial growth and yeast from forming in your favorite products, the European Commission on Endocrine Disruption has listed these chemicals as category 1 substances known for their endocrine disrupting capabilities. These disruptions can potentially cause tumors or other disorders. 8. Laundry detergent We all must wear clean clothes, but detergents likely harbors a chemical called 1,4-dioxane, and it isn’t just found in laundry detergent — it’s in automotive coolant liquids, cosmetics, bath products, and even in the air we breathe. Studies reveals some animals exposed to this chemical were at a much higher risk of developing cancer. While there is little information regarding how humans fare when exposed to 1,4-dioxane over a lifetime, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Environmental Protection Agency consider the chemical a likely carcinogen. 9. Nail polish Nail polish could cause cancer Women may really have to worry about this potentially cancer-causing product. Many nail polishes contain formaldehyde, which the Occupational Safety and Health Administration says increases cancer risks. Formaldehyde can also be found in nail disinfectant tools used in salons, so you stand an even higher risk of exposure if you pay to get your nails done instead of painting them yourself.

True. As long as people continue to inhale the constituent chemicals in these products over an extended periods, it exposes such eprsons to harm. Free radicals and toxic build up in the body system can alter normal biological metaobolical processes ultimately leading to diseases like cancer I suggest pushing this thread to fron oage to educate and enlighten people Lalasticlala Dominique Mynd44 |

One can easily compare life of the 1850's to 1990's. Our grand fathers lived a very healthy life. Since technology grew, to cross 60 isn't easy. |

The environment alone is toxic not to talk of home items. Generator noise, to loud music, to lack of proper waste disposal system, stagnant waters,..... . It's just God's mercies. 1 Like |
