Why are these people confusing us in other ranking it's UI, UNN, Onvenant, in some it's, UNN, UI, Unilag, Convenient. Now this one, Convenant, UI, Unilag, UNN. Na wao! Which one one go follow

I’m actually legit proud. While being strict with the rules, they were also strict with development in every other area. Looking back now, I think some of those disses we got sef were out of envy.

Even as a grad of a fed Uni, I must admit that covenant Uni is head above shoulders in tertiary education in Nigeria compared to the past glory fed and state Universities. They really deserve the ranking. I pray they achieve higher heights

Yoruba Amaka means "The Yoruba Are Precious"

But according to Fountainofyouth...

"Let me clarify, you don't use those words together, not for Yoruba."

Sighh! I guess we can't use these ones together also since English is not Yoruba.

Or is it ok to use English translation but not Igbo. That would make you a hypocrite.

Tribalism is a disease. Someone come and cure this girl.

In terms of citations of articles CU top with 78.4
Industry income :26.3
Research: 14.7
Teaching: 27.2.
UI's strength is
International outlook: 37.3 meaning they still live on goodwill. However their research output is low (12.1). This shows that either the government isn't investing enough on research or some lecturers are siphoning fund.

I once followed the bandwagon of those who insult private universities. When I realized that I am on the wrong side, I changed.
It's a wake-up call for government schools to start learning from there.

Remember every form of education is good except the one that bores so say an education philosopher. Even Distance Learning Programmes. When University of Nigeria Nsukka pioneered the American Educational System in 1960, it was disparaged by many students of UI. UNN was officially recognized in 1964 when over 60% of the successful graduates that took the then Western Region Administrative Exam were products of the University. It is therefore the products of an Institution that are actually the yard stick to mention its ranking. UNN pioneered General Studies in Nigeria and some of it's products n lecturers contributed significantly to the survival of Biafra during the Civil war. Any way congrats to CU on this laudable achievement. At least one University made it in Nigeria Hope rising.

UNN's research output is low (8.6) while Unilag's teaching is poor (15.5). This may be attributed to the student lecturer ratio compare to CU and UI. If is advisable that the university management look into this.

Yes, thing is CU would continue to widen the gap on Times Higher. CU would be unbeatable in the next 10 years unless Fed govt infuses at least 30 billion naira extra annual cash for UI.
UI peaks its research deposit at 1135 from 114 department in 2019, Covenant did 1400 on the same Scopus from 32 department.

Planning to do another degree in CU as I have heard a lot of good remarks from that end.

No doubt that Yorubas are blessed with Education and that's why they don't have problem cohabiting with other tribes.

Education gives you a natural sense of tolerance either by tribe or religion.

That being said, I'd like to know the contribution and the career success of graduates of that school.
Take a census, only few Yorubas in CU. Rich Yorubas send their kids to the UK not CU.

Covenant University has been named among the world’s 100 best universities in the emerging economies 2020.

The institution was ranked 91st in the annual list released by Times Higher Education (THE), on Tuesday. It is also the only Nigeria institution to make the cut.

Covenant University was jointly ranked on the same spot with National Yang-Ming University, Taiwan and University of Perandeniya, Sri Lanka.

THE explained that the list “includes only institutions in countries classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as ‘advanced emerging’, ‘secondary emerging’ or ‘frontier”.

It added that the ranking was done using 13 key performance indicators of institutions including their teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

THE noted such indicators, however, “are recalibrated to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies.”

The ranking, which examined 533 universities from 47 countries or regions, has China has the most represented country with 81 of its institutions included in the list.

This was followed by India and Brazil with 56 and 46 institutions respectively.

The University of Ibadan (UI) secured the 105 position while the University of Lagos (UNILAG) was ranked 201–250 out of the 533 universities.
