I was in Uyo last month and spent time to drive round Uyo. I went to Abak, Oron, and Mkpat Enin and Ikot Ekpene. I also interacted with people some serving in Udom's govermemt and others not in goverment to get a honest assesment. I must say I was very disappointed. Yes Udom may have started some road projects but no major road project has been completed even after 5 years. He may have commisioned some streets road but those roads are poorly done and some were commissioned when not completed. I saw the flood control at IBB that was poorly done and has failed. You do not need to be an engineer to know it was rubbish. I saw the Ekpene Ukpa bridge under construction. The incompetent contractors have sandfilled 1/3rd of the river. Uyo is now very dirty that just beside the goverment house and Uyo LGA office along Uyo village road is a refuse dump that smells like Ojota in Lagos. All the grass along the roads and flyover built by Akpabio were dead and covered with pure water satchets. At night most majors were nearly blocked by street traders. I was embarassed because I had brag about Uyo to my friends who came from ABJ,Lagos and PH to visit me. Uyo is a now a shadow of itself. The prayer on most Akwa Ibomite lip is for 2023 to come quick so Udom can pack his bags and return to Lagos where he came from.
