PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, governorship nomination in Enugu State has taken a new dimension, with the entry into the race of Mr. Val. O Nnadozie, amid speculations that the incumbent governor, Mr. Sullivan Chime, is making arrangements to contest the elections on the platform of either the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA or Accord Party.

Addressing a crowd of party supporters, the Director-General of the Campaign Organization, Mr. Harford Chijioke, noted that the wind of change blowing in the PDP and Enugu State, in particular, was inevitable, considering the enormous economic and social stress which the people of the state had been subjected to in the past three years.

He said: “We had hoped that the situation will change for better when the present administration came to power in 2007, but it is very clear to every discerning person in Enugu State that we have been shortchanged.”

According to him, Nnaedozie’s entry into the governorship race of the State was motivated by his passion to serve his people and his belief that leadership is all about service.

He stressed that Enugu State deserved more than what it had got in the past years in terms of leadership.

According to him, “Enugu State needs visionary and credible leadership, the kind of leadership that will assuage the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.” He condemned what he called “governance by deceit”, and noted that the time had come for the genuine patriots of Enugu State to come together and called for God’s blessings upon the teeming party faithful present.

In a message to the crowd of supporters, Nnadozie, who hails from Achi in Oji River Local Government area, said the destiny of Enugu and his were in God’s hands and not in the hand of any man, stressing that he only relied on God and The Holy spirit for Guidance and Enugu people who yearned for aggressive industrialisation and rural development, quality education and youth empowerment, mass housing for both civil servants and other citizens of Enugu State for his support.
