A top traditional ruler in Osun State, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, who physically assaulted his colleague during a peace meeting has been suspended for 6 months.

The decision to suspend Oba Akanbi, who is the Oluwo of Iwo, was taken on Friday after a meeting by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers.

The royal fathers at their emergency meeting held at Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, presided over by Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, also constituted a committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

The suspend Oba Akanbi was yet to react to the latest development as at press time.
