If you’re only using salt to flavour your food, you’re missing out on its many other uses including house cleaning, deodorizer and beauty aid, to name but a few. Salt makes food taste good, however, that’s not all it does. Salt is a very versatile little mineral, with impressive cleaning, deodorizing and more! Here, some genius ways you can use Salt other than cooking.

Deodorize your trainers and other shoes
Sneakers and other canvas shoes can get pretty smelly, especially if you wear them without socks. Simply sprinkle some salt into your shoes at night before you go to bed and then empty it in the morning for fresh and deodorized shoes.

A natural dandruff treatment
You may think you’ve tried every dandruff treatment going, but we bet you’ve not tried salt. When used as a pre-shampoo treatment, it works well at scrubbing out dandruff so you can properly clean your hair. Just sprinkle some into your scalp and give your head a 5-minute scalp massage then shampoo as normal.
