My brother, it is the followership that makes nigeria a failled state. We have sycophantic followers, we don't call our leaders for accountability, we don't press our leaders to do something, e.g everyone is complaining that obj shld be arrested over power projects, but no one/group is pressing the present leaders to do that and the likes.

When considering our country Nigeria, I find it difficult not to look at it's economic state, which is very poor.

The masses don't have access to oil moneys to effect the change we need to see. 2/3 of our budget (the country's resources) is spent on govt. overhead. For goodness sakes how is it the peoples' fault that the country is poor? The funny thing is that the fraction spent on the govt. will increase next year because it is likely the budget for next year will be reduced by 18% and major cuts are in govt. investment, leaving overheads about the same!

The only way forward is that we as a people should try to change the laws governing our lands. We should make politics a non-lucrative affair. The highest paid govt. official should earn no more than twice the minimum wage or 2 times the GDP per capita. Laws should also be in place to seriously reduce the amount that can be spent in political campaigns. I'd like to suggest N500,000 of personal funds, not from money looted.

It's hi-time we start taking charge of our future. The laws need to be changed.
