This makes sense enough.

Nigerians in Wuhan,
We've said it times without numbers,
Please, get in touch with the Nigerian embassy over there. especially at this perilous times.

This is highly important and necessary.
There was a Corona thread from last week,
and it was mind blowing what some Nairalanders were typing about their brothers and sisters in China!
it was sickening!!

And this is another important issue.
We know how some of our people can lie, especially when it comes to forms filling.
And lying on other mundane issue.

May God continue to protect us and our families from this deadly virus.

I dont know who u r but ur seriously wrong and u sound suspicious.
What nonsense travel advisory shit are they talking about?
How can u allow people travel to infected countries u dey mad ni?

If a country like USA can place a travel ban on it's citizens travelling to countries infected with the coronavirus. What is wrong with Nigeria leaders not doing the same....

The coronavirus is spreading like wild fire and over 30 countries has been affected. Italy and Iran are among countries recently affected with death ratio exceeding that of China.

No one is safe. Even the president of the country is not safe. Study carried out by China on cured patients shows that 14 percent got reinfected with the coronavirus after they were discharged. Our leaders should take drastic measures to prevent the virus from entering the country.

Because if it happens... Make I no talk

Why are these fools playing politics with a deadly virus? They don't want to offend Chinese government by placing a ban on them like other sane countries have done. If coronavirus enters Nigeria, that would be very catastrophic to say the least! cool cool

We need a travel ban cos we can’t handle COVID 19. It’s highly infectious, too deadly and has no real cure. People should understand that money is useless in the face of certain death. Traveling up and down for business and pleasure now is too risky.

We still have Lassa Fever to cope with. May God protect us from this horrible disease. Amen

CDC report that's Nigerians and other black Africans are immune to the Covid 19

No one is immune at the moment.. there are cases of people not showing symptoms but test positive for the virus. These people fall into the category of super spreaders.

with this, it'll be a miracle of covid-19 doesn't come to Nigeria

The govt thinks taking a drastic measure is uncalled for. What do they think will happen the moment there is a confirmed case in the country. Countries around Nigeria will close their border to us, all forms of transport ( air, land and sea) in and out of the country will be banned as it is currently happening with Italy and iran...

Coronaviruses, which include some of the viruses responsible for the common cold and flu, can show something called seasonality — that is, they peak and wane depending on the season.

Many cold and flu viruses peak in winter, for example; the droplets sneezed and coughed out by people spread more easily in winter's cold dry air and when people are crowded inside together.

They then die down in warmer weather.

"When the season is warmer and more humid, the droplets transmitting the [flu virus] tend to fall out of the air more quickly, therefore limiting its transmission," explained Yap Boum, the Africa representative for Epicentre, the research arm of Doctors without Borders (MSF).

Tropical countries aren't immune from seasonality, with flu peaking in the dry season in countries like Cameroon, Boum told DW.

However, not all coronaviruses spread through respiratory droplets and Boum cautions that it is too early to tell if COVID-19 is transmitted in a similar fashion.

"We have no background information ... so we can't yet tell," he said.

However, he said, it still "might be more prudent for countries like South Africa, which will start heading into winter, to follow how the winter will affect or not the transmission of the novel coronavirus."

'Doubt a big outbreak in Africa'

Epidemiologist Paul Hunter also emphasizes that the COVID-19 virus "hasn't been around long enough" to know if its transmission will be affected by a change in seasons.

But even if the coronavirus makes its way to Africa, Hunter doesn't believe the continent will be as hard hit as China.

Debt is bad. Avoid debt all your lives because you will be afraid to ask a HIV+ partner to use condom during intercourse when he chooses to go raw on you, just as Nigeria Govt is afraid to ban travel to China for fear of debt owed to China

Coronavirus (COVID -19) is highly contagious, it can spread through contact and it is airborne. Follow the news how an elderly lady infected over a hundred people in a church in South Korea.

True Africa is hot but Nigeria is densely populated. Imagine entering the same bus , going to church, going to school, using the same restaurant , going to the market, as a infected person who by the way may not be showing symptoms yet. Then go home to close relatives. Imagine.

Every country that value the lives of their citizens are running away but naija must face it.

It is noy as if they prepared for any pandemic, nothing whatsoever is on ground in readiness for it except the usial resort to God's Will and prayers.

I will suggest individual precautionary measures such as avoiding any unwarranted travels, washing of hands and keeping of from any sick persons with unexplained coughing.

This government is confused, they dont know what to do.

This is what happens when your leaders have taken to much loan from the Chinese, Even Ethiopian airlines is still flying to China when all the other airlines have stopped. They have sold their countries to the Chinese.
