Chelsea have a huge FA Cup fifth round tie against Liverpool tonight at Stamford Bridge as both sides will be aiming to advance to the quarter-final stage of the competition.



Chelsea have played the Reds twice this season, and while Frank Lampard’s have been unable to get a win in both matches, the Blues have played well and even matched Liverpool on both occasions.


The first time both sides met was in the Super Cup final which ended in a 2-2 draw despite Chelsea going in front via Olivier Giroud. Chelsea lost the thrilling encounter on penalty shootout after 120 minutes of end to end football.

Chelsea were also beaten by Liverpool 2-1 earlier this season. In that game, Liverpool dominated the first half and scored two goals, but Chelsea were a different animal in the second half and were unfortunate not to have completed the comeback after N’Golo Kante had scored in the second half.
