Growing up, every child wanted to have the courage of the great Adams Oshomole. The bulldozer of Nigeria Labour Congress. He was respected by those that matters. No government policy would be made without considering what his reactions would be.
Oshomole could hold the government at a stand still for days just by calling for an industrial action. He was not the office kind of Chairman, always on the streets. Always with common man, dressed in ordinary khaki safari suit.
Irrespective of his size and height, he was full of strength, had the energy of a giant and all action.
Then he bought the heart of the people and they believed him so much to mandate himto become the Governor of Edo state. The only governor that has ever been elected from a not so popular party. That is where things started falling apart. By the time the Edo people would know it, they could only wonder what befall them. All kind of impunity was attached to his name, the most popular being the mantra “go and die”. Let’s even respect his family life and forget the dust he raised when he imported a foreign wife.
The Edo people endured the ordeal till the end of his tenure. Like majority of the ex governors, he lunched into national politics under the ruling party and backed by the federal might. He became untouchable, felt infallible and saw himself like an alpha and Omega.
The very Oshomole we all looked up to was now a Demi god, who has as no regard whatsoever for mere mortals anymore. Ask Okorocha how far! Obaseki might not be able to recount what his eye have seen in the hands of Oshomole!
I continue in this school called life, learning along the way with no intention to graduate soon.
