First of all, love!

Whether you are a supporter of modern parenting methods and techniques, or you trust the intuition, knowledge, and experience of ancestors, or religious moral precepts, your children will grow healthy and cope well as long as you love them. Parents who are more tender, talk and play with their children, who are patient, believe in them and respect their integrity, without worrying much about lots of things are the really good parents, and their children get lots of good upbringing from them. This is not a sentimental statement – it is a fact. A lot of research on parenthood proves that parental love is one aspect of the upbringing process that actually makes a big difference.

Love makes a child’s brain grow

From the very beginning, our love for children affects their development. And healthy child development is much more than proper nutrition and proper physical conditions.

Psychiatrists and neuroscientists at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis looked at how children’s brains are developing, who can count on their parents’ support in overcoming difficulties and acquiring new skills. The results of the study clearly showed that the hippocampus (the part of the brain responsible for learning, memory, and regulation of stress) of children surrounded by care and support was 10% larger than the hippocampus of children without support. The conclusion is obvious – our children do not need special motivational tools, but above all our attention, presence.
