Meanwhile, Ngozi Okobi is complaining that the NFF has abandoned the Super Falcons.

naptu2:
The Super Falcons have been without a full time coach since Thomas Dennerby resigned in October 2019. The team has also not played any game since an Olympic qualifier in September 2019, yet this year is a Nations Cup year.

We are currently in the middle of several FIFA free days for women in which female footballers are busy playing for their national teams, but the Super Falcons are inactive.

Ghana is taking part in the Turkey Women's Cup, England, the USA and several top nations are playing in the "She Believes" tournament, Cameroon is playing Olympic qualifiers against Zambia, but the Super Falcons are no where to be found. Later some football fans will plan the players or the coaches if the team does not perform well, but how can they perform well when they are constantly inactive, while serious nations are busy fine tuning their tactics and blending?

Some people blame the players for performing better at their club sides than they do for the Super Falcons, but how can you compare the two when they get world class preparations with their club sides and fire brigade approach with the national team?

Many of the Super Falcons players are currently in Nigeria, but the NFF couldn't even organise a friendly game against a Nigerian club for the Super Falcons. Francisca Ordega and Chinwendu Ihezuo are training together in Benue, Onome Ebi is in Lagos and even Asisat Oshoala is presently in Lagos, but the NFF could not even organise a training session for them. How then do you want them to give world class performances?

The NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, promised, during the Asisat Oshoala charity football match in December, that a coach would be appointed for the Falcons very soon. We are now in March and no coach has been appointed. The NFF is planning that Nigeria should host the Women's Nations Cup in November/December this year and most Nigerians will expect that the Falcons should win the tournament, but how will that be possible with such disorganisation?

Ngozi Okobi has taken to social media to cry out about the situation.

The Super Falcons spent one year and six months without playing a match or holding a training session after winning the 2016 Nations Cup. They were without a coach for the greater part of that time. Asisat Oshoala, Desire Oparanozie and Ngozi Okobi had to complain on social media before the NFF hurriedly organised a match against France in July 2018. The Falcons also did not have a good preparation for that game and they were beaten black and blue by France.

Just say congratulations and move on...

You don't compare lime with breadfruit.

Men's football is

1. A totally different infernal beast.

2. It is far more advanced than its female cousin. Male football is a hundred times over more properly structured than that ladies' catwalk.

... if you doubt me join the guys in your local community for just one evening of football and you will have a rethink. The tempo will almost kill you unless you are an initiate of at least 20 years like us. smiley

Then after that, go and watch some girls at your local field, then the difference will become even clearer.

In female football, especially at this U-17 level, the more physically endowed team always comes tops. While in male football, that is scarcely enough. You need all the factors to come into play to beat up your opponent even by the slimmest margin.

No cake-walk.

Female football administration has been shitty in Nigeria for so many years now it’s no surprise we haven’t made it to the quarter finals since our first appearance in the USA in 1991.
