Niger State Governor Fails To Pay The New Approved Minimum Wages by Nobody: 6:07am On Mar 09, 2020
Question: what is wrong with Abubakar Bello?
He approved minimum wages of 30,000naira only to now say there is no money to pay worker of grade level 8 and above. Those of level 1-7 are clerks, supporting staffs and the rest not important jobs. those of level 8 and above are the real workers.
Early this year, the labour union of the state embark on strike, after a week, the governor said he would pay the new minimum for the workers and till now, nothing has been done. February salaries as not been paid yet as the governor was saying maybe the salaries should be delayed to the end of March before paying or they should pay the old rate and from March they would pay arrears.
The workers agreed that the salary be paid with old rate and wait till month end for arrears. Till now, the governor is yet to pay.
It is known that the governor during premiere leagues and rest, travels to watch the matches live at the end expense of the workers. Is this what we voted for?
