SUBMISSION TO NDIGBO WORLD WIDE.
BY CHUKS IBEGBU, SPOKESMAN OF OHANAEZE NDIGBO WORLD WIDE.

THEME; NDIGBO, 2023 PRESIDENCY AND BIAFRA; THE OPTIONS

DEAR IGBOS AND IGBO LEADERS

Permit me to use this medium to contribute my ideas and thought on the
vexed question that beset Ndigbo in Nigeria today and which any concerned Igbo man today ought to revert his mind to. These are the question of Restructuring, 2023 Presidency or Biafra.

Yes, there are divergent views on these issues. Some Igbos feel we should secede from Nigeria and form our own nation , Biafra . This view believe Nigeria can never work and Ndigbo lots cannot get better in a Nigeria state.
Some others feel a Restructured Nigeria will serve the interest of Ndigbo better and Ndigbo must continue to clamor for that.
Then there are those who believe that a Nigerian Presidency of Igbo extraction in 2023 will give Ndigbo a sense of belonging and emotional satisfaction . This last thinking has two sub sets. There are those who want the Igbo Presidency clamor to be in sync with Restructuring of Nigeria while another thought is that Restructuring or not , Ndigbo
should produce the next Nigeria President.

Well, nobody should demean any of these views and positions as the holders do so for various reasons . Nigeria as its presently constituted is no doubt a burden to its citizens , more so the Igbos.
The innate potentials of the Igbos cannot manifest patently in Nigeria the way things are now , nor even that of any creative Nigerian.

This author believes however that a working Nigeria will serve Ndigbo and indeed other Nigerians better than seperate nations and enclaves. The challenge however is how to make Nigeria to work.Who will make her work , how and when.To this writer, a Restructured Nigeria
with an Igbo at Aso Rock or an Igbo man who can Restructure Nigeria at Aso Rock will change Nigeria narrative.. This will require courage and determination . But then all Nigerians must be ready to make the necessary sacrifice to make Nigeria work. Our elites in particular have to be patriotic and not mischievous and corrupt as they have always been.

For exponents of Biafra, I can understand their worries and
grievances. Nobody in Nigeria should begrudge them because they know where the nasty Nigeria shoe is pinching them. Nobody should castigate Nnamdi Kanu , the pro Biafran activists and the angry Igbo youths.
Rather , the basis of their grievances must be located . Today and in recent past almost all parts of Nigeria were embroiled in one form of secessionism or another over the state of the nation. What the BOKO HARAMIST are doing now in the North East and in a violent manner is brutal secessionism .

Yet to the writer, nobody should as well crucify Prince Erondu Uche for being at the forefront of a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction project come 2023 which groups like the PAN NIGERIA PRESIDENCY OF IGBO EXTRACTION COALITION PANPIEC is championing, this when achieved would be a tonic to heal the wounds of the civil war, give the Igbos a sense of belonging and create a new political , socio and economic narrative for Nigeria. Igbos are nation builders with natural developmental paradigm.
All Nigerians should sync , key in and support this just, equitable and well worthy cause.
All Nigerian political parties and power blocs have to champion this cause.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY

what you wrote and your position is like an empty barrel. for years we have seen the barrel gun but when will it fire.
you are on a wrong position and even think if an Igbo were to be elected the President that there will be change ?

I won't waste my time with this sympathetic post that's naive all over about the game of politics and the lack of competence in majority of Igbo leaders in various political positions. how much more a presidency.

Nigeria won't work because of two things

1) the current crop of leaders circulating themselves um the presidency and senate
2) the easily bought, ignorant and contented masses.

you talk won't change. create a plan not a valueless post

This pursuit of Nigerian presidency instead of self-determination and freedom from the shackles of 'one Nigeria' is ill-adviced and Ndigbo will see little benefit/impact at the end of it! As things stand now, the Nigerian presidency -in the hands of a Igbo- is a poisioned chalice!
