Coronavirus (COVID-19) On Nigeria's Economy by Enobaks: 2:57am On Mar 20, 2020 |
You are aware of the virus which has now become a pandemic globally, affecting individuals and resulting in series of deaths. This virus has cost more than 8,000 infections in 26 countries with nearly 800 deaths. This is why the WHO (World Health Organization) and supporting medical teams has deemed it fit to contain the spread of the virus. Affected Nations across the globe have taken drastic decisions to place restrictions on travelers coming into their country. This is a good move against the virus but one can't help but noticed the downside of this decision as it has affected the global economy resulting in stock market price going down. Coming to our country Nigeria, oil production which represent about 90% of the country's Revenue is still being produced with no customers to utilize this product. It has led to excess supply without demand hence resulting in a nosedive of the prices of oil. It seems this virus is affecting the economy more than the humans. What do you think about it?
