Our Limitations In The Fight Against Covid 19 And Solutions. by Benesis: 10:37am On Mar 24, 2020
They say wash your hands under running water, but 80% of us lack access to running water at home, we mostly buy water, and Sachet water are the closest we have to the most readily available water, so our Health agencies need to tell us more of how go use sachet water in washing, than talking of running water, because there's no free running tap in the streets, we wash hands in basin, even most bars and restaurants lack running water to wash hands with.

Staying Indoors, Most Nigerians will tell you that they rather die from corona than hunger. the poor cant afford to buy in bulk to last for 5days,and 70% of our population are in abject poverty, they survive on the money they make daily. they live from hand to mouth, so staying indoors may only happen when they have see with their eyes, what dying from the disease looks like, and then weigh it to be more than the need to eat.

Hand Sanitizers, We have always lived in an exploitative society, the regular business man just wants to reap off the buyer, hence sanitizers that sold for 700 are now #1000 and most people are making fake ones, and still selling at same price, because most of us wont know, because we've not been buying them before, so how will we know.

No Ventilator. In severe case of the virus, it causes, difficulties in breathing , at this point, those with weak system or underlying sickness need ventilators to stay alive. I read in the daily that Nigeria has 500 ventilator in all, how will 500 ventilator service a population of 200million ?

The Attitude Of Most Doctors and Nurses: shoutout to doctors and nurses world over you guys are amazing. But in my country where nurses call you by your sickness name, and treat you like scum, the hospital is always the last place we go, and we go there after exhausting all other remedies.. The attitude of our medical personnel, need to be addressed in so way, no matter how weak or sick we all, we all as humans have dignity, and our resolve to fight and stay ob, dies the more that dignity gets eroded.

Our Prayer Answers All Mentality: Truth is the bible says that even if our faith is as small as the mustard seed, that we will move mountains with it. But the same bible goes on to tell us, that you cant see someone hungry, and say to them, it is well with your body and soul. that faith no matter how big it is, without Work is dead.. So we need to read the bible together, we say "this disease will never come my way in Jesus name, because i will carry out all the tips of distancing, hand washing etc. to keep me safe. and not being careless and hoping on the holy spirit to do all the work to keep us safe. simply put, with faith and work, we can move mountains, but faith without work, is dead.

To solve the problem of hand washing, we need the government to at least install some temporary water tanks and taps at markets, public places and on streets, to be refiled daily to make hand washing available to all.

To avoid Nigerians dying of hunger, Market sellers are to be made to wear compulsory face mask and gloves, and the public should be reminded regularly that avoidance of public places is in their self interest.

Nafdac should make scape goats of one or two people producing fake sanitizers that are not of standard, a x the government itself could employ resources to mass produce hand sanitizers and sell to the public at subsidized rates, while Nigerians should think about Price regulatory agencies.

Health is wealth, the budget for health and education should be of importance and we need to do more in ensuring that the resources employed there are not embezzled, and foreign medical trips need to be banned as Rice is, so as go grow our medical sector, and this is the best time to import ventilators or teach people on how to produce same.

SERVICOM has a lot to do, in reorienting the mindset of our Civil Service providers, that their happiness should be in the satisfaction they derive in their service to the public and not in frustrating the people that come to them.

In the Koran, the Prophet Muhammad saw a man leave his Camel without tying it. He asked, "Why don't you tie it," the man replied "I trust God" Muhammad replied, " Tie your Camel, then trust in God".
In the Bible, we are told to obey earthly authorities, and we are further told, that Faith in God to protect us, without positive action on our path, to stay protected, is dead.

please add your own contributions as to the Limitations we have as Nigerians in the fight against Covid 19 and the Possible solutions to them...

We need to be "CAREFUL" and not "FEARFUL" mankind has faced worst and survived, this too, we will overcome...
