I tend to disagree...
I am using Honda for 4 years and never had a ball joint problem.
I have changed the ball joint just ones and my road is very bad in Ikorodu.
My wife uses the car daily to and fro work.
Same road I have seen Sequoia, highland, Benz and off cos Honda have their legs pulled out.
However mine has never pulled out.

I term it carelessness to the driver who ever has a leg pull out if not caused by and accident.

Why I think it is most common with Honda is because Honda has a perfect absorber system more perfect than Toyota that you may find it pretty difficult to identify a ball joint noise.

PS: I have driven an EOD which ball joint was at the verge of pulling out. Felt some wobble on the steering that day and decided to do an alignment.
It was in the process of doing the alignment we found out that the ball joint had shifted from the socket. If I had not taken that immediate step to check the alignment, we would have seen one more Honda with leg pull and tagged it a Honda issue.

It is more of paying attention to details.

Senario 1: Four years on mine... I have a gear switch issue... Mine was more direct... during one of the rainy season when I crossed a high level water... The *D* light started blinking and the gear became sluggish.
Gear was still working but I knew the difference.
I took it to a rewire who tested the 3 switches on the body of the gear till we found one switch with a crack... Changed the switch and works fine till date.

Senario 2: my friend bought a babyboy as well (first car) and after a month he the *D* Light was blinking.
He said the gear works just fine and he did several weekend trips with it to Ibadan, Ekiti and co aside the daily trips he does from Ikorodu to yaba... To an fro work...after a year the gear packed up. He just woke up one morning engaged the gear and the gear refuses changing (Like he was driving L1)
He asked me about it until he mentioned that his *D* Light has been blinking for over a year but it never affected car performance so he felt it was a glitch. He ended up selling the car after several trials and error.

Now besides these two scenarios I have experienced others when I purchased a Naija use babyboy. The gear is something I used to fall prey for..(then I don't even use scanners)

there is the overheating type....: Gear runs smooth on the onset and after driving for about an hour gear starts misbehaving... Have had such experience on two Naija used babyboy and the *D* light so not blink at the point of purchase.

So what I do is when I buy a Naija used... I buy fuel and test drive to satisfaction.

PS: For me once the gear is not a switch issue, I got for a total change of gear. Cant be doing trial and error.

Babyboy has great fuel economy once your engine and exhaust system is right.

Boss..you've said it all.
Before I got my baby boy, I did a Toyota Camry tiny light with a v6 engine, thought it was great aside it high fuel consumption.

But after getting my baby boy for two years now, I don't feel like letting it go, it wasn't new or close to but a Naija used....i was sceptical initially bcoz of all these bolt joint issues and stuff but now I can say that am addicted to the car cuz it serves me to the fullest.
After my monthly service and tightening of d joints, am good and the fuel consumption is very low.
I had wanted to sell the car and buy Peugeot 406 auto but my mechanic adviced me to keep using my car cuz wahala dey for 406 auto, though I don't know how true his statement is.
I will also like to read from guys who are using d Peugeot 406 auto....
All in all Baby boy when serviced as at when due can be enjoyable and trustworthy on the road.

Heard sane thing about 406 auto once they reach a particular mileage... But I can't judge ... Let those who use it give their experiences

Honestly, I think I should just continue to use my car for now instead of attempting to dip my feet into an unknown water. But will appreciate more info about this 406 auto ride.
And besides, it's been suspicious seeing more of the manual and few of d auto of this very Peugeot model.
I will also want to know d reason for that too.

Honda parts are very much available mostly in Oyingbo..

Don't know about the price for a 4plug gear
But the V6 gear was about 65-70k when my friend wanted to change his before he sold car off.
Ie: the 4plug gear may just be within that range cos the V6 gear Alps goes for odyssey and co.

Gear might still function normally... But it good to have it checked out... It a sign the gear system is not ok.
