Easter and Christmas periods are generally known as a time Igbos use to have a lot of events, like marriage ceremony(Igba Nkwu), Burial and funeral ceremonies, and many other events. In this period,friends and relatives travel from far and wide to attend this occasions.In fact anybody that has been in igboland during these two seasons can attest to this.

Yesterday our great achiever and beloved Governor of our dear State due to the spread of COVID-19 took a drastic action by canceling all events relating to that until further notice,which is a step in the right direction for the good of Ndi Enugu. However,the question now is what is the fate of all those that have already fixed an event with date for this Easter period and has already printed invitation cards and distributed to people as well as put all other things financially in place especially as no time for lifting the ban was stated by the Government or since almost all these events do happen in the rural areas,should they go ahead with the events? .
Please those in the know should advise as nobody will chose to violate a rule that is for the benefits of the whole state.

Events are for people that are alive and healthy, and not sick or dead people. At this juncture, staying alive is key. Events can be rescheduled or even cancelled outrightly depending on the circumstance.

If they must go ahead, only immediate family members should be allowed to attend. It will be unreasonable for anyone to insist on gathering crowd at such a time like this.
