2 Trillion Naira ($5.2B). That's too small. I think the package should not be less than 50k naira each, that's $26Billion. After the relief pay, Govt must find a way to control product/service prices cos our people are selfish.
Also, about 5% of our population won't need any relief pay. It should strictly target the poor, middle class and dying businesses.
Stop dreaming

This is one of the many reasons why i don't like nigerian. You guys are not appreciative. How much has the boudillion warlord and bullion van controller Tinubu and others donated? Apart from atiku, despite paying his tax regularly, how many politician, celebrities and business mogul donated in the eradication of this menance. We need to appreciate the little we got from him in order to get more from others. Im very sure others are watching if the govt and people will appreciate his kind gesture b4 they act.

That's good. Since Atikuchukwu spends 10,000 on his family monthly, then 10,000 is good for each Nigerian household. Useless Cameroonian bisexual.

you don't mean it! Is the money shared among government workers only or both private and government?

The money is for any individuals and businesses. Business who do not get rid of staff get their loan forgiven.

However it is not free. The money comes from our taxes and we will have to pay taxes on what we receive but it helps.

post=87774409:

Atiku Atiku, nice one!

Just yesterday, the United State Senate approved the payment of $1200 dollars (around 420,000 Naira) to each household all over America, (Married couple with 2 kids $3400, that is 1.2 Million Naira) and Billions of dollars for small businesses, all totalling $2 TRILLIONS DOLLARS that is (700 TRILLION Naira shocked shocked shocked).
The highest payout in the history of America.
Which will be distributed to every household between now and 2 to 3 weeks.
All based on your tax returns tho'
And they have the database for every qualified citizens, where do we even start from in our darling nation?
No database whatsoever,
Someone can commit a crime in Lagos and run to Sokoto, he may be there for years with no one finding him or her, it's not like that in Trump's country!

The first thing that came to our mind was....
Can this ever happen in our darling nation?
Then the answer we got was that if Barack Obama and Bill Clinton the 2 past presidents before Donald Trump squandered the national treasury of America government, and their former minister of Petroleum ran away from America to London with 22 BILLION DOLLARS and getting another Citizenship of a Caribbean island so that she will have immunity not to return to America soil.
With just jewelries worth #400 MILLION NAIRA recovered so far.
And many other of their politicians were buying houses all over the world, burying hard currencies in latrines, on farms, in soakaway, in abandoned buildings all over their country!
We wonder where Trump could have fallen back to to pay that huge pay out in the history of America!!
So the answer we got was a resounding NO!
Even as much as we would have loved if it is true!

Truth will always be bitter, but it has to be said.
When a sitting president and vice President could open their own private universities while all the Government universities were on strike,
(Just like Obama and Biden having private universities in America while their universities were on strike due to poor funding)
what insolence could be more than that?
When a number 2 citizen of a country has a company that import the largest number of generators into the country, how will they ever want us to have electricity?

The Foundation has been destroyed, we are not praising this government, ( we gave them just 65% overall so far) but our point that many people misunderstood here is that , IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE, If it continued the way our country was going in 2015, many of you wailing now, would have been eating from the dustbin by now.
Things can only get better if we come together to build a new nation and leave out politics of bitterness in your hearts, even Jona has moved on.

Same Atiku was talking about the economy prior the election, and make it appear as if the heavens were falling upon them.
But the economy, according to pundits, began to slow down in 2012. By 2014, it was poised for recession.
Before the last administration left,
Nigeria was already borrowing to pay salaries,
as confirmed by Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
And that was in spite of trillions earned from oil. By 2016, recession was inevitable. But for how long did it last? Just one year.

No wonder the Excess Crude Account was looted dry. Foreign reserves drawn down.
Federation Account, emptied.
And the economy was set on an irreversible path to recession.
And they say; don't talk about it.
Focus on the present and the future only.
How we miss Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. He would have said: "I go shout o, I go shout plenty o."
If we don't focus on the past, we are then liable to make the same mistakes.
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." (George Santayana).

NOW, LET'S SET SOME RECORDS STRAIGHT ONCE AND FOR ALL.
(We accept criticism from those that voted for the sowores, Felas, Kingsley, Hashim etc, and those that wanted to give their votes for Madam Oby before she stepped down, we love those guys also, we could have voted for them, they have good plans for the country, but the reality is they don't have the platform, Sowore got only 30K votes all over Nigeria!)
We could have voted for anyone of them if they happen to be in the political party opposing the party of thieves and criminals.
If you voted for a thief and respect our own vote also without quoting us (we respect your political view, we will never quote you),
but if you voted for a thief who wants to come back to continued from where he stopped and you are here castigating/insulting us daily, (cos you refuse to respect our own view) all your insults to your heads in multiple folds.
You lots may never end well in life!
What insolence!!

PMB won't be the president by now if our country was going in the right direction in 2015, and you are castigating us for changing the looting and STEALING going on?
We never voted for our now darling Daddy prior 2015, Not at all!
Your hero even told us to our face that STEALING IS NOT CORRUPTION?!
Foolish Atiku talking about what he or his past government can NEVER do, just to instigate hatred against his conqueror as usual.
You will see his zombies, shouting yes yes, without using their brains to think logically for once, that Atiku, shut up, could you have done this while you were in power?
After y'all stole our money?
The rebuilding of Nigeria is proceeding apace.

Summary, Trump could only have done that because the Previous Government left a good legacy behind.
We can never move forward in life if you don't look back to know where the problem came from.
Peace out!
We Rise!

Thanks Chief Topmaike.
All of us @ just have to pour out our hearts!

Thanks, but the post is not for Lazy readers ,AKA Lazy youths!

We do respect your view about this.
You have a point.

When I saw $22billion dollars, 65 percent pass mark for the present government etc. It was obvious you are ignorant or deliberately promoting a false narrative.

Prominent figures in this government took the previous government to court for setting up a sovereign wealth fund, it is those same charlatans that that opposed the removal of fuel subsidy in 2012. Since then till now Nigeria could have saved up to $25 billion in earnings that was being used to subsidise petroleum products.

Today there is a president who also happens to be the country's petroleum minister! He has failed to improved anything. We've gone back to the days when oil deals were sealed in people's bedrooms!

The previous administration invested in the power sector, they were able to triple power generation in 5 years. In 5 years the current administration has not added 1 single megawatt to the grid.

You talk of the economy, Nigeria's economy was one of the top ten in the world by growth. Top ten investment destination in Africa. Became Africa's number 1 economy. This administration through incompetence failed to maintain that, rather we had to rely on a recession in South Africa to regain our top spot.

When the previous administration took the reins Nigeria's daily production had dropped to 800,000 barrel per day. The previous administration was able to ramp production to 2.2 million barrels per day. This present administration, through bigotry managed to significantly reduce that production.

When we talk about 'giveaways'. Tradermoni or whatever they call it is a stupid way of doing that. Programs like the previous administration's YOUWIN program was more impactful. Instead of ramping up production as YOUWIN did, programs like tradermoni were inadequate and geared towards creating jobs abroad.

The problem with people like you is that things like religion and ethnicity drive your decision process.

Even the ebola crisis was managed properly by the previous administration. The information minister, health minister and president were all on top of their game.

Governance is beyond populism! You guys settled for populism in 2015 and the reward for populism in 2020 is poverty and pestilence.

It is just so disturbing that Nigeria Government and leaders lack sense.

Before now.. govt was supposed to work with companies making sure that their items, manufactures are being subsidised in other to reach the lowest Nigerian...

But we are never prepared for anything... all we watchout for is the enemity of our Neighbours friends and family.

However we were suppose to be amorously united. But no we are not!
