The Federal Government of Nigeria is to recall retired doctors and nurses due to the outbreak, and rise in cases of novel coronavirus pneumonia in Nigeria.

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire disclosed this on Monday, March 23, 2020, while giving update about the virus, in Abuja.

He said 36 confirmed cases had been recorded so far with 26 persons having travelling history while 6 had contacts with infected persons, 4 of the infected persons had no travel history or known contact with a confirmed case.

conversely, the Federal Government had slammed medical doctors as the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige said public on a channel television that doctors are free to leave the country that we have enough.


Ngige said this while he was responding to questions about brain drain and deliberate recruitment of Nigerian doctors by foreign embassies, on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, April 19, 2019.

According to him doctors in search of greener pasture should leave, adding that they could work abroad, come back and settle down in Nigeria.

As it stand now, we have 51 confirmed cases of persons with coronavirus of which 48 are active, 2 recovered and one person has died of the virus.

However, Nigeria politicians who do seek medical attention abroad when sick could not do so anymore as there is no confirm vaccines for coronavirus.

Nigeria Government and Politicians should, as a means of advice, therefore, treat our medical doctor and Nigerians well by doing the needful. Provide a well equipped hospitals, give us stable power supply, let have access to good road, and so on. Good bless Nigeria!
