You are clueless. People out of their job are so because their business obey the lockdown directive. Their jobs are simply hibernating. The companies reopen their door once the lockdown is over. Even restaurant workers are part of the group. They are out of their job not because there is lack of job. Before the pandemic. Nigeria included even when Nigeria’s case is even broken beyond remedy in the first place so to speak. We don’t have credible data in Nigeria, so no one will know the effect on employment in Nigeria. again, there are millions of unemployed people in the US who are not junkies or lazy.... but hey, if you believe that because there are many available menial work in the US, therefore nobody should be unemployed then you clearly dont understand the issue. it doesnt matter if local restaurant are looking for waitress/waiters , it also doesnt matter if there is a lot of construction jobs available, nor if you can easily get a job as a mover or Uber driver.... some people have studied for many years to become lawyers/surgeons/dentist/architects etc and they are unemployed.

there are many people who cant find work because of their age 45 and over, there are many people who wont do BS jobs after studying for decades, there are a lot of people who cant get a job because of discrimination, there are a lot of people who work in a industry where cheap foreigners are taking over the market (why do you think there is so many Indian doctors in the US or foreign taxi drivers in NY?), there are many people who are unemployed due to TECHNOLOGY (many machines are now replacing workers in many fields)... do you really think that there would be as many job offers for a newspapers editor who just lost his job?
