-a journalist had asked Onyeama if leaving the country was an indictment on Nigeria's health system? He said no.

-those who had left did so to enable them make use of a system that they are familiar with, should the need arise. He said.

Very contradictory statement. SHAME!! What type of a system do we have as a country that they all find it uneasy and burdensome to adapt? Why are our diaspora citizens not showing any interest to be evacuated if our system is in order? Or is it an indication that APC is playing politics and propaganda on evacuation of our diaspora fellows announce by the spout-mouth chairman NIDCOM, Abike Dabiri?

You political lots travels overseas to queue at airport counter, stands on moving train, no zombie escorts and frightening siren to oppress the masses, have assess to health system with good facilities and well paid doctors by their govts, your mannerless and bratish kids also enjoys the functioning education system provided by their govts, etc.

All you do is to spew worms! SHAME!

*Musa*: With schools closed and hospitals opened, can we now conclude our Junior High School debate........ *A Doctor and a Teacher, who is more important ?*

*Nuhu*: The teacher is more important, that is why the President said they should stay at home and be safe. The doctors can die. Teachers will train new doctors. grin grin

Nigeria has also started testing the controversial 5G telecom network. The 4G doesn't work well at all, even the MTN that is test running the 5G actually deteriorated upon adopting 4G.
Now that suspicion worldwide is focused on the link between 5G and coronavirus, WE ARE THE FIRST COUNTRY IN WEST AFRICA RUNNING TRIALS OF 5G. NA WA O...

Me I don't understand the connection between internet network and coronavirus

The minister is trying not to cause a panic but we all know it's not true. The foreigners are leaving because of the impending danger that lurks ahead. May God help us.

The real reason is that Nigeria and some other African countries are about to be used as guinea pigs for the various covid vaccines being developed. So these western countries have to evacuate asap to save their citizens.

Just my speculation tho
Lol.. just tell us taking vaccine is Haram. Tell your family to reject them when they come.

Mr minister, it's still worrisome that foreigners would choose to go back to their corona ridden countries than remain in a relatively safe place.

This is the problem with Nigerians. the question the Hon. Minister was responding to is different from his response. He said 637 Foreigners Left Nigeria and Rep. of Benin, as if he is a minister in Benin. Since to him, they are also leaving other African countries and not only Nigeria, he should give us the break down of the 637 that left both countries.

They are leaving cos of the massive civil unrest that will happen soon in Nigeria.
It will come like d Arab spring that started with one man that set himself ablaze due to hunger.

96% of Nigerians are angry with the government right now. You couldn't give us jobs, infrastructure, social amenities, security, affordable education, healthcare and you are now locking us indoors. You are taking away our livelihood.
Millions of unemployed Americans right now are applying for unemployment benefits due to Covid-19 and their government is sending them cheques, half of their last wages monthly.
Buffons and ineptitude government here only knows how to enforce lockdown.
How will one account for expensive rented shops and appartments ,goods with expired dates, bank loans, association loans, farmland rents etc reading on nothing.
Only govt workers are happy at home right now and they don't make 1% of d population. Schools will resume soon and how will parents pay their children fees.

Lockdown is not d solution. ENFORCE A LAW THAT EVERYONE MUST WEAR FACE MASK AND HAND GLOVES while GOING OUT. THEN SOCIAL DISTANCING.

Sorry to digress a little bit. We the masses are also part of our own problem. When Jonathan removed petrol subsidy in December 31st 2011, many masses who supported the FG were busy calling their fellow citizens who were protesting against the removal "lazy who want freebies from the government".
My point is that Nigeria masses can never speak with one voice and we will never get what we deserve from the ruling class

Lastly, massive testing of the people. While at home, the government ought to be going from house to house testing people.

He's playing diplomacy. But he's privy to some confidentials that the second wave of COVID-19 will hit Nigeria between spring and summer. That's between April and June to September. So,they're evacuating their citizens because of what they fear might be huge tolls of lives- hundreds of thousands or millions. These demonic scientists are saying Nigeria might take the worst hit- 45 million people.
However, we cannot fold our hands and wait for the angel of death to slaughter us.As a nation the LORD is our shelter from.the storm (cf.Isaiah 25:4) paraphrased. We've got to fight ,using everything at our disposal: our herbs. pharmaceuticals and our energies. It's not time to hibernate, not time for lockdown.

They are going to a system that they are familiar with.
Makes it seem as though they had a medical history of Covid19.
The simple fact is they are running away from a system that is not working.
Is he trying to say we here are familiar with our non existent system?
Is he and his bosses familiar with our system, would they not have run to a working system as well if it wasn't for the restrictions?

See this shameless liar! who have not read the warning that american embassy gave to their citizens that would like to visit nigeria.in that article they painted a gory picture of nigerian failed systems.the non-existence of a standard health sector and talked about the decadence of the nigerian health infastructure.a country where ambulance is not used to save lives but only to carry dead bodies.yestaday.there was a report of a suspected case of coronavirus whom the ncdc did not respond to.to save her life, becos there was no ambulance to convey her.she later was taken home to die in a kekenapep. So the truth is that the foreigners know that our hospitals are rubish without adequate facilties.and can best be described as hospitals of death.

They are leaving because of yeebos.
yeebos
have a crime culture problem that needs fixing

One of the Nigerians arrested in US by FBI in biggest online scam crackdown. Many are yeebos

In the heat of the lynching of yebo citizens in Asia in 2013 over alleged criminality, I wrote an essay entitled, ‘The yebo fallacy’. In it, I appealed to the Igbo to de-emphasise the culture of profligacy, decadent opulence and vanity which fuels the pursuit of crime by their own. I also suggested the need for value re-orientation – a task that must be actuated by all groups – the age grades, unions and traditional institutions.

Really, it is enervating for me that my kinsmen are taking the inglorious front row in ‘’money crimes’’ – drug peddling and internet fraud – abroad.

In August 2016, an yebo drug dealer was guillotined in Indonesia. But his funeral in Anambra was a rambunctious shin-dig. He was even described as a “hero” by his people.

I have skimmed through the list of alleged online fraudsters indicted by the FBI, in what is regarded as the biggest scam bust in history, and I could see familiar names. It is heartbreaking for me. The refrain that criticising your own people for shortcomings is an act of sanctimony is obtuse. Crime has no ethnic face, but does that imply condoning or rationalising a persistent ill?

Thy have a problem. The yebos have a problem. Out of the 21 Nigerians on death-row for drug peddling in Indonesia, 20 are yebos – from Anambra

A few months ago, some armed robbers of yebo origin launched an attack on a bureau de change in Dubai, but they were arrested. It is painful, instead of exporting the durable products of Aba, we are exporting crime and violence. That Nigerians are a pariah in South Africa is partly due to the activities of some Igbo drug cartel.

But what happens when these drug gangs return to the south-east? A bazaar of bloodshed. A few years ago, there was a massacre at a church in Ozubulu, Anambra. The killings were linked to a drug war between rival gangs in South Africa. The gangs took their battle out of the turf to native soil. Really, we are baiting the hurricane.

And now, out of the 77 names listed for online fraud in the US, 74 are yebos. We have a problem. We cannot solve this problem by living in denial.

I agree, there are millions of them doing great things in there fields, but they must condemn the activities of these criminals among them. They do represent them, because their actions are capable of making an execrable impression of all them.

The argument that the yebis are marginalised and that they are deprived because of the civil war, so very few among them are forced into crime is puerile. This is a terrible way to rationalise a problem that dents the entire group. There is no excuse for crime.

One drop of dirt is enough to make a basin of water impure. We must have serious conversations on this atypical criminality.

We have a culture that glorifies ‘’money’’ crime – ‘’ego mbute’’ – the culture of money grubbing and worship, as the-be-all and end-all of everything. It is a pervasive culture, not limited to the yebos though.

They need value re-orientation, and this should be actuated by all groups – age grades and traditional institutions. They must stop celebrating people of unknown fortune. They must name and shame those with illicit wealth in there communities. They should upbraid them instead of giving them chieftaincy titles and front-row seats in church.

What exactly do they discuss at annual August meetings and town-union meetings? Enough should be enough. We cannot keep ignoring this filth.

They have a problem. A crime culture.

Excellent presentation! However, every society has a defiant or criminal fraction in its population.

The Ibos, Hausas, Fulanis, Yorubas, Ibibios, Nupes, Tapas, Ijaws, etc, none of them is clean.

The issue of moral decadence shouldn't be isolated to a particular people or nation regardless of the pattern. Why? Because, today, money is the object of worship in the contemporary world.

All modern societies are succumbing to this idolatry. This explains why God is not happy with humankind right now.

We must all repent from our wicked ways. Money is not everything. A saying goes like:

Some people are so poor that the only thing they have is money."

The house built with saliva will soon succumb to mere mist.

Let all religious leaders quit placing money and material things above God in the hearts of the people. Rather teach and implore them to seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness; to seek holiness and purity. These virtues and attributes inevitably bring more blessings than can be imagined.

And, in the same vein, let the religious leaders lead by example.

Warning: profiling or stereotyping religious leaders who are falling, compromised or fake is leads to destruction. No one will be saved because it's not their fault that they failed, but the misleading of their religious leaders.

In the hereafter, everyone is on their own.
